Welcome to the site of the Maryland Legends
"2006 Pony U-18 National Champions"

The story continues with the success of the 2006 Maryland Legends U-18 team. This year has truly been a banner year for the Legends Girls. The summer has been spent criss-crossing the nation trying to find the best competition that we could to help this team get better. Finishing out the season with an approx 60-5 record including a National Championship means that we did it right.

Our Manger Eddie Lynch and Coach Butchie Hammer's efforts over the years have grown this team to be a truly talented group of young ladies. The hard work of the players mixed in with the teaching ability of the Legends staff have helped this team reach the level of success that most softball programs will never be fortunate enough to attain. As a result of the success not just this year, but in previous years, Eddie has been able to help approx 50 girls obtain scholarships to college. In most cases the players have been able to continue their playing career at the college level.

Going forward the goals of the program are very simple, teach respect, hardwork, dedication to both team and family mixed in with a little softball and fun. This is truly a winning combination. So as we prepare for the for the 2006 Fall ball season, we are starting the process of growing the program to include a boys program of various age groups as well as adding in different age groups for the girls teams.
