Skills clinic with the Legends: Hello everyone! Do you want to take you game to the next level? Our Coach Eddie Lynch, the manager of the "2006 Pony National 18U Champs" is putting on a clinic for all kids. In association with "The Academy" this clinic is a fundraiser for the Legends team so that they can raise the money for the 2007 fall season. The girls from the team will be there to help with the training and show the players the correct form for fielding, hitting, throwing. This is also a chance for the players to meet the National Champs. The clinic will consist of three consecutive Saturday mornings December 1st, Dec 8th, and Dec 15th. We will start the U-14 at 12:00 till 2:00 and the U-18 from 2:30 till 4:30. This clinic will be limited to the first 15 players in each group. If additional players sign up we will schedule another clinic right away so that we can help both your players as well as the Legends girls. Fielding: Coach Eddie will start off the players with the correct form for fielding. The Legends team will demonstrate the form and work with each of players so that they get the basic understanding. Additionally, the players will be taught to dive for balls. Every fielder, both infield and outfield, has to be willing to dive for a ball. Why not come and learn from some of the best. There will be plenty to do so come prepared to work hard and take the knowledge and drills home so that you can start improving your game. Hitting: The second week of the clinic will be everyone's favorite, hitting. This week will be a lot of hard work for the players. The Maryland Legends are Nationally known for being a prolific hitting team. Coach Eddie will work with the players on developing the correct form. All the while stressing the "Short to it and Long thru it". We will be using batting t's, whiffle balls, pitching machines as well as live pitching. This week will be a lot of hard work, but if you want that scholarship you have to know how to hit the ball. Throwing / Run downs / Plays: This will be a tough week. This game is a game of split seconds, and every one matters. Coach Eddie will be covering off how to get the ball and get the best release for the consistent hard, accurate throw. Additionally, we will be covering off plays and rundowns so the the players have a good understanding to take with them. This clinic will be very comprehensive and motivational. Coach Eddie loves to see all of the players improve. Items needed for this clinic: Sweat pants - each week (needed for diving) Long sleeve shirts - each week (needed for diving) Glove (each week) Sneakers (no cleats on the turf) Bat and helmet for the hitting week Please leave your whole gear bag in the car.
